THE LOUIS VUITTON FAMILY HOUSE
On the first day Anna, Vicky (who also took my outfit-pics. thx honey!) and I visited the Louis Vuitton Family House in Asnières,
only a few minutes drive from Paris. The Maison de Famille is such an historical place and it was very exciting to discover
the roots of this legendary label. Louis Vuitton himself used to live here and in this place the heart of the brand started beating!
I really loved  the interior of the house: a ceramic fire-place, shades of pink and green everywhere, flowers, delicate wood and
lots of old photographs of the Louis Vuitton Family (and of course of Marc Jacobs). I was baffled when I got the chance to meet
the fifth-generation family member Patrick-Louis Vuitton, who visited Asnières that day! What a lucky coincidence!

THE LOUIS VUITTON MUSEUM
On the first floor of the family home you can find this special mseum, packed with beautiful old trunks, hat-boxes and even
an old bed-trunk (though I’m not so sure if this was the comfiest way to travel back then).

THE ASNIÈRES WORKSHOP
After the tour through the museum we had a look at the high-precision laboratory, were all the special orders, bags and hard-sided
luggage is made. One important thing for Louis Vuitton is that the luggage has to be as light as possible or to say it with Patrick-Louis Vuitton’s words „I refuse to design furniture. It’s all about movement. Nothing leaves the hands of a craftsman that cannot be easily transported“. What I loved most about this place was the atmosphere and the passionate craftsmen! I saw happy faces everywhere!
It was not because some blogger watched them but because of their love for the brand! Each piece is made from start to finish by one specialised craftsmen and each and every one of the 180 employees at Asnières knows exactley what they’re doing! One interesting fact:
On every work coat you could see the inititals of the craftsmen and since when they’ve been working with Louis Vuitton!

So many stories are united at this secret place in Asnières and this is what makes it even more special!
And my travel story had only just begun – stay tuned for more exciting news and pictures the next days!

Lieben Gruss, Cla
