We’ve already started talking about timeless pieces and which basics every woman should have in her closet.
after Part 1 – The Tops, it’s now time to focus on the bottoms:
3 PAIRS OF JEANS
required colours: black//dark wash//medium wash
a pair of jeans is the base of basics. jeans go with literally everything, that’s their wonder weapon! you could even pair them with
a sports bra and birkenstocks (yes, I’m the only person on the planet not liking them) and you would still look great!
most of my jeans are from Cheap Monday or Asos (I’m obsessed with the Ridley Skinny Jeans) but I also like Acne Jeans
A BLACK DRESS aka LBD
it’s nothing new that a black dress makes you look good. no matter what. theatre, opera, funerals, dinner dates – you’ll always
need that dress. At least it’s good to have one.
A PENCIL SKIRT
this skirt was worn by hot secretaries in the 50’s for a reason! it shows off your figure and makes you feel feminine as hell.
it doesn’t need to be the classic skirt though – I’ve chosen a faux-leather version.
I didn’t have that on my list, but my friend S. convinced me that every woman NEEDS it. after experiencing the magic of
a lightweight slipdress (makes you feel like an old hollywood moviestar) at my Louis Vuitton Shooting I had to have one.
Topshop has a nice version
summer will return and we will enter the beach. we’ll be sitting at the beach bar drinking ice cold lemonade and flipping
through magazines, thanking god for these warm days. and guess what we’ll be wearing. right.
a leather bag will always be a good friend because of it’s robust material. if you are good to the bag (doesn’t like rain) the bag
will be good to you or at least look good for a long time. With my leather shopper and my Mulberry I can tick that off my list.
a true summer basic. goes perfectly with denim shorts.
although I’m not running around in heels every day, it’s good to have a nice pair in your closet! preferred colour: black
I like to wear them with jeans (here we go again) or shorts. Just ordered another pair that has been on my wishlist for ages!
BLACK ANKLE BOOTS
no autumn/winter without wearing ankle boots. midi-skirts, skinny jeans, shorts, dresses – a black ankle boot can do it all.
Although I’m good with my pairs from Zara and Bershka (on the picture), the Acne Pistol Boots will be my next investments.
They are just too comfortable and good looking!
for me finding good knee-high boots is a big challenge and I haven’t found them yet. but once I’ve found a great pair, I’d wear
a lot more skirts during winter. any suggestions?
thank god sneakers are back on the runways and get the respect they deserve for treating our feet so well!! it’s unbelievable how
versatile they are! sneakers work with sunday uniforms as well as with everything else. one pair of sneakers should be in every closet,
at least the classic converse!
What about you, are you also working on a basic wardrobe? What’s missing in your closet? Tell me!
