After years of heavy touristing around this city, including massive Oxford Street claustrophobia on a saturday afternoon, rebellious A E I O U shouts at St. Paul’s Whispering Gallery and counting rhinestones at the Tower of London, it was about time to discover a new side of London.

And just like that I’ve booked a girl’s weekend in Great Britain, switched off my mobile devices (or at least tried to) and ended up in one of the coolest boutique hotels I’ve ever been to. If chevron bathroom floors, avocado toast and hashtag pillows are your thing, make sure to check into the Hoxton Holborn (199 High Holborn).

First on my list was the Sky Garden (1 Sky Garden Walk) – a minimalist’s dream of a botanical garden, sky-high above London. The views, the architecture and the rich green Fiddle Figs made this place an epic starting point for our weekend. Next up was shopping at Liberty London (Regent Street), a department store not only famous for it’s beautiful flower shop but also for being an architectural gem. It looks like straight out of a Shakespeare poem, filled with amazing interior and fashion goods. Same goes to the cute little streets and boutiques around Covent Garden (my absolute favorite: Monmouth Street).

After all the shopping madness (not to forget the epic glas of champagne at the Gucci store, where we got to see the new dreamy collection) we took a carousel ride at the Kensington Gardens (as seen on my Snapchat: viennawedekind) and visited the Fashion Rules exhibition at Kensington Palace. Last but not least: Delicious garlic bread and Tagliatelle at Jamie’s Italian (11 Upper St Martin’s Lane).

I loved all this new places and came back with a relaxed mind, full of inspirations. Next up: New York! Drop me a comment if you have any recommendations…
