I think we all agree on the fact that a leather jacket is a wardrobe classic – no matter if you’re a girly girl or more of the tomboy variety. It’s one of the most versatile pieces in our closet, taking us through Fall. And Winter. And Spring. Yap it’s always leather weather, even on a late summer day: A biker thrown over a breezy summer dress can be a real game changer on a chilly August evening.
You see: A leather jacket is this kind of fashion investment where you can easily justify a couple hundred bugs (think about the cost-per-wear) but you really don’t have to! This Edited the Label biker for example is absolutely affordable yet has the ideal fit. For me it fulfils all the important criteria a perfect leather jackets has to have:
Leather: buttery soft leather, still thick enough to give some structure but not too stiff so that you can’t move
Pockets: I need pockets for all my shenanigans (lip balm, credit card, tissues…). If a jacket has pockets with zip closure so that things can’t fall out – I’m a happy kiddo.
Fit: It’s all about the right length! It should be neighter too long nor cropped (difficult to style, too cold in Winter). A perfect leather jacket should end at the hips.
Details: The hardware should be decent (otherwise it won’t match to your bags, shoes etc), it needs to have a belt (obligatory with every biker) and interesting details (quilted shoulders or like in this case a detachable faux fur collar)
You’ll see: once you’ve found the perfect one, you’d be pretty happy throughout the seasons…
