Never thought of wearing Brocade or opulent flower prints because of the fear of looking., well… overdone? I feel you, but you might have to think twice: This look from Milan Fashion Week is the living/textile proof that minimalists can do florals. And colour. And trending Brocade. Especially when these flowers look like they came straight out of an old, dusty renaissance picture. In a good way!
When this Ganni Blazer crossed my path a couple of weeks ago, I instantly fell in love. Silky red lining, manlike tailoring with a slightly oversized fit and these picturesque brocade flowers in burgundy shades. I was sold. And here we have it (once) again: the Scandi people just know how to get things right. I was hitting the Milanese streets in a pair of black culottes to keep a relaxed silhouette, topped off with a touch of Bella Italia in form of embellished ankle boots (obsessed with the burgundy) and some Gucci Magic. Kindly supported by one of my favorite sartorial dream factories. Modern Renaissance, just the way I like it…
