There was a time where I preferred night over day. For me it seemed like all the dirt of our lives got invisible in the darkness and all the painful memories disappeared. My life consisted of daydreaming and night wandering. I got lost in sleepless nights, spending hours writing poems, reading and thinking about the past and the future. I was what you would call a nocturnal animal – someone who tries to make the most out of his Insomnia. And sometimes fails.
“Do you ever feel like your life has turned into something you never intended?”
Sometimes life makes unexpected turns, in both good and bad ways. Either we get haunted by our past and have to deal with it or we reach a crossroad in our life and need to make an important decision, which will affect our future.
This is exactley what touched me at Tom Ford’s (yes, the designer himself) new thriller, Nocturnal Animals. It’s about wrong decisions, love and cruelty, truth and dark revenge. A gripping psychological drama not only packed with strong pictures and an intense story, but also extraordinarily played by Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal. No wonder Tom Ford’s second directing magic has been nominated for the Golden Globes…
So if I may give you some advice for the holidays: skip the couch/netflix date for one night and go to the movies. I promise you won’t regret it! You can watch the trailer below:
