ALL EYES ON: HOUSE OF DAGMAR

You know I have a thing for scandinavian simplicity, understated luxury and high-quality garments. When I first came across the swedish brand House of Dagmar a couple of years ago, I instantly felt „at home.“ The brand, run by three wonderful sisters, is dedicated to strong women who follow their own path. It’s all about empowerment, modern sophistication and confidence – aspects that every scandi fashion passionate truly appreciates.

However, last sunday I got invited to Stockholm Fashion Week, to attend Dagmar’s AW17 show, called „The Dividing Line“. And let me tell you this: when I first saw the architectural venue I knew it’s going the be the stairway to (sartorial) heaven… Hybrid knits, 3D elements and a mix of different textures & minimalistic hues. Lots of references to Austrian artist Svenja Deininger, whose abstract paintings and graphic shapes were a big source of inspiration for House of Dagmar.

The collection plays with the unexpected – like chunky loden jackets that appear to be super lightweight or garments made of recycled PET bottles. Lacquered shearling meets fluffy alpaca. Sustainability, by the way, is a key element for the sisters. They work with recycled cashmere and merino wool and only use chrome-free leather for their designs. That means the leather is processed with barks & vegetable oils, a very time-consuming but eco-friendly way of production.

You see, there are uncountable reasons to love this brand and support the vision of these 3 inspiring Ladies. I’m Team Dagmar – what about you?
