Time is a precious thing and hard to catch, they say. Once you think you are really „in the moment“, it’s already gone… As for me, this phenomenon especially occurs when I’m travelling (#wedekindtravels): there’s always so much to discover, but so little time. At least my brand-new Swatch is looking mighty fine, reminding me of the moving 2.880 minutes I got to spend in London last week. Reason for my trip to the capital of shortbread was the launch of the new Swatch Skin, a sleek and minimalistic watch, thin as skin and light as air. The collection was inspired by 3 modern demands: lightness, freedom and self expression and won my heart with it’s contemporary design. But first things first:
It all started with a Red Bus Tour to the famous The Store at the Strand (a creative space in the heart of London, perfect for a vibrant launch party) and ended with an epic dance performance, culminating in the reveal of a secret room. And just like in Indiana Jones, the mysterious door led to a time-measuring treasure. And some yummy cocktails. But I guess, that’s another story…
Strolling around Covent Garden the next day (#shoptillyadrop), looking at the monochrome dial, I made the bitter-sweet discovery that it was almost airport o’clock. And once more the invisible time stealer jumped out of a red phone box, shouting „(S)watch out – time flies fast“. In the blink of an eye I was back at the office in Vienna, but still with some vivid memories of the hotel’s hashtag pillows (where can I get them??) and those beautiful swatch skin chronometers.
