Nothing better than a nice outdoor workout to clear your head! No seriously: As you may probably know, in the past 8 months working out has become a big part of my life. Especially my  personal training sessions with Niki from Vitura * became a weekly routine, that I wouldn’t miss for anything in the world. As the weather is finally stable enough, we recently relocated our workout from gym to park and I absolutely loved it! Here are 5 reasons why you should consider working out outdoors (+ scroll to the bottom for a special goodie):

1. IT’S MORE FUN
No matter what kind of sports you choose, may it be yoga, swimming, strength excercices or cardio – taking it outdoors can be much more entertaining! Not only is it fun to observe the world around you (let’s be honest: there’s much more to see than in your well-known fitness centre) but you’ll also discover new places and hidden paths in your city…

2. YOU’LL BE HEALTHIER
The combination of fresh air and Vitamin D will boost your immune system and brighten your mood instantly. So it’s even more effective than a regular workout at the gym.

3. YOU DON’T NEEED ANY EQUIPMENT
The best thing about outdoor workouts: you don’t necessarily need tons of equipment (altough we used some kettle bells and robes for our session). Use your environment for your excercises – like the stairs or park benches. Here’s a set of simple but effective HIIT excercies that you can do anywhere:

1min Burpees
1min Jump Lunges
1 min Jack Knives
Repeat full circuit 2 to 3 times total

4. IT WILL REDUCE YOUR STRESS LEVEL
Excercising is vital for maintaining mental fitness and helps you to reduce stress. This was my main reason for taking private training sessions. Being active surrounded by nature will calm you even more and clears your head in the most effective way.

5. IT’LL MAKE YOU MORE FOCUSSED
Working out + getting some fresh air will improve your concentration and you’ll be way more productive after a quick outdoor sess. 30 minutes cardio + abs in the park can really energize you and make your feel more focussed!

Stimmt, outdoor Fitness hat wirklich was – jedoch ist es in Österreich mit dem Wetter gar nicht immer so easy. Aber man sollte es ausnützen so oft es geht. Liebe Grüße Jen
