|I totally fell in love with Copenhagen! Grab some tea or coffee and enjoy my visual Travel Diary: |
call me the new ambassador of Copenhagen!
This city is damn beautiful and you can feel the danish philosophy of life called „hyggelig“ (means cozy) everywhere!
the Danish love blankets, flowers, bikes (thousands on the streets), good food and most important: light!
I’ve never seen such an amount of beautiful table lamps, candles and drop-lights! the Danish know how to fight dark and cold winter days!
on the 1st day we’ve been to the rundetaarn (roundtower), where you get a perfect overview of Copenhagen,
took a boat-ride on the Canals (hello little mermaid, you tiny thing!), strolled round the harbour ,
drank the best hot chocolate ever (more about that in my Copenhagen Food post – coming soon!) and
had some serious adventures with gorgeous Sarah!
on the 2nd day we went straight to Amalienborg where the Queen lives and watched the changing of the guard.
oh boy the Royal Guards Music Band knows how to make happy sound and I couldn’t help myself but danced like a teenager.
nobody wondered. I love the Danish!
one excitement chased the other as I did some major shopping afterwards. Ok, this is worth a special post guys!
on the 3rd and last day we had a long walk from our wonderful hotel to Christianshavn.
you definitely have to stop by the Church of our Saviour. The corkscrew tower is exceptional and you have a wonderful view on top.
of course on our list was Christiania, a freetown with approximately 850 inhabitants. note: you mustn’t take pictures there!
the people of Christiania don’t want to be seen as tourist attractions and there are scouts everywhere.
just stroll around the area and have a coffee in one of their cafés!
we’ve seen a lot but there are still soooo many places waiting to be discovered!
I am definitely coming back!! Copenhagen Fashion Week in August would be a good reason, right?
thanks to Sarah & Alexandra for the handy „must see/must eat“ tips!
psssst: I’ve got lots of pictures left and will post them on Facebook.
