The 5 Bags every Woman needs | More on #essentials

If there’s one thing undeniably grounded in the female genetics it’s the passionate hoarding and cherishing of hand bags.
But let’s be honest with this: we don’t really need tons of bags, as we are wearing the same few pieces anyway…
Let’s break it down to the 5 essential bags every woman should have in her closet:

A shoulder or crossbody bag is your best friend – not only at the weekend but 24/7! Where bulky shoppers fail, a shoulder bag is your hands-free go to. I own 5 different shoulder bags (yes, I’m pleading guilty!) and probably wear them 6 out of 7 days! Invest in a high-quality piece instead of buying many budget bags – it will pay off!

Got a lot to carry? No need to squeeze your belongings into a small crossbody bag: Go with a tote bag! From groceries to gym clothes to laptops and magazines this bag can carry it all and it’s way more sophisticated than a shoulder bag. Especially when it comes in sleek leather…

A bucket bag basically is a hybrid of a tote and a shoulder bag. Equally carefree thanks to the no-hands shoulder strap but still extremly storage-friendly. It’s my favorite type of bag for business meetings and running errands. I’ve invested in the Mansur Gavriel Bag a couple of months ago and have no regrets. For me this is the best minimal bucket bag available (trust me, I did a month long research before I bought it) although the leather is a bit bitchy. If you like colour – I can recommend this burgundy version or go with grey suede if you like to try something new.

No wardrobe is complete without a clutch! Dinner Dates, Gallery openings, Parties and Weddings – there are numerous occasions where you’ll need that bag. Go either with a simple black clutch (easy to combine!) or an eyecatching evening bag to top off your look.

Think road trips, bike cruises to the beach, museum visits, city picnics, excessive shopping afternoons with friends… That’s where a Backpack comes into play – giving you all the freedom you’ll need on this occasion. Invest in a simple, high-quality Rucksack and you’ll have it for years and years! I prefer leather because it’s more sophisticated and sturdy but the designs from Herschel are good-looking alternatives.

Wundervoller Post!

Perfect selection! I totally agree to invest in high quality pieces, as they can be a lifelong companion.
I don´t own a bucketbag so far, but if I´d buy one it would be the one from Mon Purse (autralian brand) I love the quality of the leather and the manufacture!

By the way: your Saint Laurent bag is a little bit to die for!

Happy weekend

Stimme dir absolut zu – vor allem, dass die Sammlung übersichtlich bleiben sollte. Wie du sagst, man trägt sowieso nur immer die Lieblinge ;)

Hi Carola,
Can you please recommend a bucket bag in pebbled leather?
