Diving into the backstage buzz right before a Fashion Show is a sport I’m really hooked on. The steamy air, the super focused hair & make-up artists braiding and painting almost robot-like their way to the defilee and all the beauty creations that are born right here / right now.
“This season’s beauty trend is all about layering… Mixing different colours and textures to create completely new make-up accents and individuell layers.”
Loni Baur – Head of Make-up @ Catrice
Once again the lovely Catrice Creatives, especially head of make-up Loni Baur, invited me backstage at the Berliner Salon to take a look at the FW17 beauty looks. I might be no beauty pro but it’s absolutely fascinating to hear Loni talk about the latest Make-up Trends and simple styling tricks for you and me.
“Get ready for more colours and bold accents! Fall Winter 2017 will be all about individuality and personalization. Big trends will be warm tones, metallics (copper eyes!), more shimmer and the mix of different textures.”
It’s a backstage adventureland where I’m secretly observing all the excitement around me with the lenses online I’d brought (which were really helpful), touching all the Catrice blush palettes (a key product for the Spring season!) and get to hear some eye-opening beauty hacks.
“Beauty is Fun. There are so many products that can easily be transformed: lipsticks can be used as blush, a lip pencil turns into a kajal, gloss adds shimmer to your eyelids and you can use eyeshadows to mat bold lipsticks…”
These Malaikaraiss definitely inspired me to try this blush-look at home. It’s an refreshing look, easy to recreate, but still relatively subtle. Perfect for spring! What do you think?
