EDITOR'S LETTER: THOUGHTS ON THE NEW SEASON.

EDITOR’S LETTER. Why hello there, September!

With the switch from August to September a new season is about to kick off: F A L L. This is probably the most important season of the year and definitely my favorite one. Especially September is always filled with excitement and re-gained energy (thx to all the sun soaked hours & relaxing vacays summer had in store for us). September is a month of transition – where we slowly drift into colder territory – and a month of fresh inspiration. The new collections are in store, the September issues are out, people are back at school/uni/office and fashion month is about to kick off. As I said before: the Autumn air is filled with excitement.

It‘s also the month where I tend to make plans for the rest of the year. Things I want to achieve, travels I want to make, ideas I want to bring to life…. So I thought I’d keep you updated on some exciting things that’ll come up this season and what else you can expect here on VIENNA WEDEKIND:

CONTENT. I took a lot of time this summer to think about interesting content for you guys and what I want to achieve with my Blog. I’ve always been known for my minimal, basic-loving Wardrobe and I definitely want to focus more on that and to share some knowledge on how to combine existing things from your closet with a few seasonal pieces. I’m kind of bored by all these trends that come and go way too fast. What once was an It-Bag per season has now turned into weekly or even daily must-haves, mostly served on Social Media. This kinda pressure is getting ridiculous so it’s even more fun to focus on timeless pieces that won’t loose their value within weeks. So be prepared for more basic talks and simple Style Guides.

WARDROBE. Which brings me straight to my Wardrobe. I’m trying to work with Capsule Collections & specific wishlists this season – which gives me the opportunity to buy less but with better quality. The capsule collection should involve pieces that can easily be combined with each other and most importantly: they should work within my existing wardrobe. I’ll definitely share my experience with you and tell you more about these Capsules. Starting with my FALL CAPSULE SHOE COLLECTION which will be live next week. Stay tuned!

TRAVELS. Kicking off a season full of travels with the Venice Film Festival, which I’ll be attending next week. Follow along on my Instagram @viennawedekind to see what I’m up to and what I’ll be wearing for the big Gala. Next up will be Milan & Paris Fashion Week, followed by a big shoot in Spain and a couple of other exciting trips. Can’t wait! Patrick and I also decided to really work on our Travel Bucket List (would you be interested to find out more about that topic?) and visit as much interesting places as possible in 2018/2019. Let’s see how that goes, but we’re already planning the first trip in December.

INTERIOR. I’m currently working on a big Living Room Update – which I’ve promised you for ages. We had to wait for our new Sofa and table for quite some time now, but we’re finally ready to take some pictures. Let me know if you wanna see something specific or if you’re interested in a certain Interior topic…

PROJECTS. We are currently working on a few big projects, I can hopefully tell you more about it in November… But in the meantime I’m able to share a few other News with you: I had the pleasure to work with Cartier for their new Juste un Clou collection – you all know these iconic nail-shaped jewelry which is now available in a slimmer and more flexible version. Keep an eye on my Instagram to see more of this stunning collection and make sure to check the new Gala Style Magazine which will be out in a bit. There you’ll see more Juste un Clou goodness including insights from our campaign shooting. Another great feature will be published on September 13th: I had the pleasure to function as guest editor for the Woman Magazine Trend Issue where I’ll be talking about exciting new brands and trends that I’m hooked on. Don’t miss it!
