5 REASONS TO BUY A VINTAGE WINTER COAT THIS SEASON.
The most challenging part of winter clothing? Variation! Of course you can mix & match your accessories and knitwear to shake things up, but in the end it all comes down to your trusted winter coat that you’ve bought in the beginning of Fall (or last season). Now is the perfect timing to spice up your winter wardrobe and go on a vintage treasure hunt with eBay. Because no one wants to spend a fortune on a warm coat though we all want to look good, right?

Although I’ve been using the platform for over 10 years now, this see now buy now concept totally won me over. And let’s be honest: the thrill of scrolling through daily deals and discover something special for the fracture of the original price is so much more rewarding than buying something new.
With that said (and as the happy new owner of this gorgeous Acne Studios Teddy Coat) I’m sharing 5 reasons why you need a vintage coat this season:
1. IT IS UNIQUE
Of course you can buy your coat from the high-street chains but chances are high that 1000 other women are wearing the same one… Buy buying a vintage/pre-loved coat you will own something unique, something that has a character and tells a story (if only clothes would talk!!). So embrace your individuality and hunt for that coat that is meant for you!

A great looking coat can make the coldest winter day a bit more bearable but of course it comes with a price. Reason enough to buy your coat secondhand and save a good amount of money. I’ve scored this Acne Studios Teddy Coat on Ebay for the fracture of it’s original price (340€ instead of 1500€!! which makes a discount over 70% !!!) and it’s as good as new. It even had the price tag on it so I saved A LOT of money for a premium quality coat, that will definitely keep me warm the next months.

Classic coats like peacoats, wrap coats or camel coats will never go out of style. Reason enough to invest some time to find your ultimate bargain. Max Mara, Acne Studios, Jil Sander, Prada and many more have amazing coats that are timeless and therefore worth the money.
4. HIGH-QUALITY
It’s no secret that the quality of our clothes was much better in the past. There was no such thing as disposable fashion and clothes were made to last. Reason enough to dig deeper in the archives and invest in a high-quality coat from the good old days. It will definitely last way longer than any high-street outerwear…

The clothing industry causes a lot of pollution and damage to the environment, especially fast fashion is designed to be worn only a few times before being discarded. By buying pre-owned clothes you are helping to slow things down and increase circularity in fashion. And in the end it’s much more exciting than ordinary shopping.
