Basic Mission: My Fashion Week Challenge

Basic Mission: My Fashion Week Challenge

This milan fashion week I've challenged myself:

This milan fashion week I've challenged myself:

Can't believe that this was my 9th (!) Milan Fashion Week. After all these years it was time for an experiment. So this fashion week season I've challenged myself: would I be able to attend all these shows and appointments while only bringing a small Capsule Wardrobe? Can I master the most fashionable days of the year wearing nothing but basics? How would I feel if I'd brought only 3 pairs of shoes and 4 bags and would anyone notice my basic mission? The answer is: it was easier than I thought and I never ever felt so comfortable and authentic. I did not have to change 3x a day, only packed a normal suitcase, my feet did not hurt because I only chose shoes where I could walk at least 6hours with, I had more time to focus on the things around me and best thing: I was less stressed.

I'm totally aware that these are not normal problems and usually packing 4 bags for 4 days abroad would be a lot. Not during fashion week. I used to change clothes several times a day to create content or present new Looks to the streetstyle photographers. But I always wondered how relatable this was for you guys? Are you interested in head to toe designer looks or in Outfits you can easily recreate with your own wardrobe? This time I chose the latter. So here are the results:

DAY 1 // Thursday 20.2.2020

landed at 14.30 in Malpensa, hopped on the aiport shuttle and changed into this look. to be honest: this was my favorite of the week, because the oversized jacket with the tailored pants felt comfy yet chic. perfect for the first day of fashion week, or any other day in the city... and these sneakers are sooo good - it's like walking on clouds. great start so far.

DAY 2 // Friday 21.2.2020

exciting day!! we got to shoot an international campaign for Prada (pinch me please!! what a dream) and then I got ready for the Armani show. Disclaimer: I planned to wear the white Iro Blazer (from Saturday) on this occasion, but Armani asked me if I'd like to wear something from their collection and I chose this wonderful coat. The rest of the Outfit? Jeans + Tank Top + Chunky Boots. As simple as it gets.

  1. EMPORIO ARMANI Coat
  2. &OTHERSTORIES Tank Top
  3. RE/DONE Jeans
  4. GIORGIO ARMANI La Prima Bag
  5. ARKET Boots

EVENING // Boss x Vogue Party

This was the only evening where I changed Outfits and I only had to pack an additional black dress, the rest is from the Capsule. A silky slip dress + a black blazer + boots is always a failsafe and chic option. I felt very good! Shoutout to the German designer Malaikaraiss who created this stunning dress. It's like a sophisticated patchwork version of the classic slip dress and will be out soon.

DAY 3 // Saturday 22.2.2020 (pictures above)

give this girl some sneakers, jeans and a blazer and she'll be happy as a clam. I absolutely adore this Power Shoulder Blazer. It adds an interesting touch to this timeless classic. and I'm also wearing my no1 favorite jeans, which I've been wearing nonstopp for 2 years now. Denim heaven!

DAY 4 // Sunday 23.2.2020

I was wearing this look for the Boss show and to be honest I failed here with my experiment. I did not feel 100% comfortablle with these leather culottes and would have preferred the tailored pants from day 1. But I wanted to wear the two-tone boots and they looked best with the culottes. Struggles haha! It's still a pretty simple look though and it was quite comfortable too.

  2. H&M T-Shirt
  3. ARKET Leather Culottes *last season*
  4. BALLY Bag
