LES EAUX DE CHANEL: AN OLFACTORY JOURNEY
Travel equals constant inspiration: You get to see new places, meet new people and discover new scents. Coco Chanel loved to travel; it had a big impact on her life. Especially sea-side destinations like Deauville / Biarritz / Venice influenced her work and made Chanel the trailblazing brand that changed Fashion forever.
With the new Fragrance Collection LES EAUX DE CHANEL – 3 minimalistic bottles that will please your nose and bathroom – master perfumer Oliver Polge paid a tribute to Coco Chanels favorite sun-drenched destinations.
And if you get the chance to travel to the Normandy via Orient Express, smell the new perfumes at Marcel Prousts former summer residence (Coco adored his book „In search of Lost Time“) and walk through the soft sands of Deauville, you instantly know why Coco Chanel loved it there!
Gabrielle drew massive inspiration from these places: The beige of the sand in Deauville, the salty winds and the dancing waves in Biarritz, the art and architecture in Venice. She was 29 when she opened her first fashion boutique in Deauville, Normandy, supported by her great love Boy Capel (now you know why the famous Boy Bag is called Boy Bag. You can thank me later). Inspired by the practicality of men’s boating jackets and the ease of nautical sailor stripes she started to create casual and airy clothes for women. Polo shirts made from Jersey, wide-legged trousers and figure hugging swimsuits. Just the stuff we all love for Summer! (continue reading below)
The 3 new Fragrances are elegant, vivid and fresh – just like Chanels memories. A dash of PARIS – DEAUVILLE and you’ll smell facets of basil with top notes of Sicilian orange. Add a spritz of PARIS – BIARRITZ: an energizing splash of Sicilian mandarin and sparkling lily-of-the-valley accords. Or choose PARIS – VENISE for a sensual combo of Neroli with Vanilla and Tonka Beans.
All bottled up in a very smart and sophisticated flask, which took 2 years to develop. Designed to look mighty fine on our bathroom shelfs… However, If you love the sea and summer just like I do, I’m pretty sure you’ll love these scents (especially Deauville).
Thank you Chanel for this unforgettable, olfactory journey.
